Apple’s bitter authorized dispute with Epic Video games over the distribution of Fortnite on iOS has now managed to rope in Valve. Apple has subpoenaed the Steam maker for a variety of PC recreation gross sales information it says is essential to its case. However Valve is preventing again in opposition to that subpoena, saying its data is proprietary, not related to Apple’s case, and can be pricey and tough to generate.
As mentioned in a joint letter from Apple and Valve filed with the Northern District of California court docket this week, Apple’s November subpoena seeks two massive classes of knowledge that Valve is refusing to supply:
